Floyd H. Manning of Bend died Sunday of natural causes. He was 68.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Terrebonne Pioneer Cemetery on Smith Rock Way in Terrebonne.
Mr. Manning was born March 13, 1932, to Horace J. and Melvie (Miller) Manning in Farmington, Utah.
He married Esther L. Nelson on July 23, 1952 in Ogden, Utah.
The couple moved to Prineville after his retirement in 1983. They raised quarter horses.
Mr. Manning worked as a dairy farmer in Liberty, Utah. He eventually worked with a Ranchers Auction and Twin Falls Livestock Commission Company.
He served in the Army in Germany after World War II.
Mr. Manning spent several years dressing up as Santa Claus for church functions and family gatherings.
He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, growing mushrooms and watching sports on TV.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Prineville.
His survivors include:
Wife, Esther, of Bend
Sons, Larry of Redmond and Chad of Tygh Valley
Daughters, Dixie Bailey of Glendale, Arizona, Christine Haley of Prineville and JoDeen Ridgway of Powell Butte, Jeannine Quinlan of Jerome, Idaho, and Madonna Richards of Kailua, Hawaii
Sister, Bea Hansen of West Valley City, Utah
23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a granddaughter.
