Janet Darlene (Woolhiser) Kiser of Hermiston died Saturday. She was 47.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parkrose Christian Church in Portland.

Mrs. Kiser was born Dec. 30, 1954, in Redmond to Wilbur and Clara Mae Woolhiser. She graduated from David Douglas High School in Portland. She married Joseph Kiser in 1974 in Portland.

She was head cook at Umatilla Head Start and the Hermiston Senior Center.

Mrs. Kiser was affiliated with Oasis of Hope First Baptist Church, the Joy Girls Club and Campfire. She also volunteered her time for several community programs.

Her hobbies included sewing. She enjoyed practicing her faith and helping people.

Survivors include her husband of Hermiston; one son, John Kiser; one daughter, Jennifer Hollenbeck; one brother, Robin Woolhiser; one sister, Tenia Hayzlett; her parents; her grandfather, Wilbur Woolhiser; her grandmother, Millie Cooper; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Susan Komen Foundation.

Gable Funeral Chapel in Portland is in charge of arrangements.
