Grace Ann (Cleveland) Morris Skjersaa of Bend died Friday, November 11, 2005. She was 88.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Niswonger-Reynolds Chapel in Bend. Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Bend.

Mrs. Skjersaa was born Jan. 27, 1917, to Ray and Olga (Olsen) Cleveland. She graduated from Bend High School in 1935 and married Olaf Skjersaa in 1936. She worked at Wagner's and Marcoulier's Mid State Meat for several years. She and Olaf owned and operated their own ski shop until 1971. She married Leo Morris in 1987.

Mrs. Skjersaa was a life member of the Sons of Norway, where she enjoyed the fellowship, food, music and dancing. She also was a member of First Lutheran Church in Bend.

Mrs. Skjersaa loved traveling to Norway and Europe. She also enjoyed the outdoors, skiing, camping, hiking, sailing, fishing and square dancing. She was instrumental in the development of skiing in the Bend area and had the first ski shop at Mt. Bachelor.

Survivors include her son Terry Skjersaa of Eagle Crest; three daughters, Karol Jannsen of Aguila, Ariz., Greta Cecil of Crooked River Ranch, and Karen Weeks of Canton, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both her husbands and a grandson.
