Mildred Alice Gass of Bend died Friday. She was 81.

Private services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Bend.

Mrs. Gass was born Dec. 11, 1922, in Green County, Tenn., to Sam and Estelle (Baskett) Chase. She was raised in Tennessee and later lived in Illinois. She married Kay Gass on Jan. 8, 1946, in Gate City, Va. She moved to Bend in 1979.

Mrs. Gass enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Mark of Bend; two daughters, Kathy May and Pat Doser both of Bend; three sisters, Mabel McAmis and Alice Chase, both of Greenville, and Gladys Staten of Loves Park, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and four brothers.

Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home in Bend is in charge of arrangements.
