Thelma Louise Smith, of Bend, formerly of Brawley, California, passed away in Portland of heart failure. She was born July 4, 1954 in Cairo, Illinois to Aaron Lee and Barbara Ann (Millner) Smith. She grew up in Brawley, California. She raised two children, then in 1992 she followed her son to Bend where she became a dog groomer/bather.

T. Lou will be remembered for her love of animals, thrift store shopping finds and her firecracker personality.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara Ann Shelley, of Yuma, Arizona; son, Michael Patrick Fraker and his wife Jessica, of Bend; daughter, Rashaell Renae (Fraker) Fischer and her husband Brian, of Hesperia, California; brother, Bryon Dillon Smith and his wife Jennifer, of Washington, Iowa; sister, Yvonne Ann Johnson and her husband, Scott Witt, of Bend; grandchildren: Jacob Hodkinson, Acacia, Jazmine and Patricia Fraker; along with nieces and a nephew and numerous extended family members.

Thelma was preceded in death by her brother, Earnest Lee Smith; father, Aaron Lee Smith; and stepfather, James D. Shelley.

Memorial will be held June 29, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Michael and Jessica Fraker’s home, located at 910 Stratford Court, Bend. Pets welcome.
