Marvin Leroy Johnson, of Bend, died Sunday, September 16, 2007.  He was 83.  A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born March 10, 1924, in Marshall, Minn., the son of Gislie and Hilda Johnson. He was a high school graduate. He married Alida Daniel in 1947 in Rapid City, South Dakota.  He later married Bertha Ries in 1967 in Winnemucca, Nevada.

Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He worked in construction and later did janitorial work for the Eagles Lodge. He was a member of the Laborers’ Union and the VFW in Bend, and he was a previous worthy president of the Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include a son, Gary, of Bend; a daughter, Jan Williams, of Reno, Nevada; four grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both of his wives.  Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
