A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Greenwood Cemetery in Bend. Pastor Willard Fenderson will officiate.
Mr. Majors was born Jan. 24, 1918, in Fort Towson, Okla., to William and Hattie Majors. He graduated from Chiloquin High School in 1937, and attended Oregon State College for one year. He married Elna Johnson on April 21, 1948, in Boise, Idaho.
Mr. Majors served in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1945, and was a reservist from 1945 to 1948. He later joined the Oregon National Guard, and was an active reserve officer from 1954 to 1978.
Mr. Majors worked for Ponderosa Molding in Redmond for 26 years. He was a life member of Redmond VFW Post No. 4108. He was also a member of many horse clubs, and was past president of the Rim Rock Riders of Redmond in 1978. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, horses, woodworking, making furniture and watching his grandsons play basketball.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Terrie Ray of Vancouver, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Prineville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
