Charles E. Boardman of Bend died Sunday of natural causes. He was 86.
A private service was held for the immediate family. A graveside memorial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Boardman was born September 25, 1914 in Kent to Charley and Emma (Hansen) Boardman. He married Frances (Florence) Boardman in Bend on August 6, 1943.
He served in the Sea Bees (construction battalion) in the South Pacific in World War II. He practiced law in Bend from 1943 to 1974, at one time serving as District Attorney and later as Municipal Judge.
Mr. Boardman was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, the original Board of Directors of the Sisters Rodeo and served as Grand Marshal in 1994.
He enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing and the High Desert.
Mr. Boardman was survived by his wife; one son, David of Gresham; three daughters, Robin Moore of Grapeview, Wash., Kathy Patton of Bend, and Tamsin Looker of New York City; one brother, David of Bothell, Wash.; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three older sisters.
