Octavian Wassau-Tobogian Smith of Bend died Monday of complications due to spinal muscular atrophy. He was 10 months and 15 days.

A viewing will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Niswonger-Reynolds and Tabor Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Niswonger-Reynolds and Tabor Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery.

The Smith child was born Oct. 5, 2000, in Bend to Lonny Smith and Shaneka Helms.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Olijawan Helms of Bend and Tyler Smith of Portland; two sisters, Obsidian Helms and Oceania Smith, both of Bend; and grandparents, Lee and Donna Helms of Bend, Jennifer and Glen Martin of Bend and Steve and Jolene Smith of Oahu, Hawaii.

Niswonger-Reynolds and Tabor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
