Bert Marvin Walker died August 31. 2001 of cancer. He was 68.
A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Redmond Memorial Chapel at the corner of 6th Street and Glacier. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Redmond Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held at the Terrebonne Pioneer Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
Mr. Walker was born Sept. 23, 1932, in Portland. He was a Realtor for many years before becoming a developer and a builder. He lived in Bend since 1993.
Walker served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He belonged to the Portland Swing Club and enjoyed raising Arabian horses and hunting. He graduated from Franklin High School and Portland State University.
His survivors include:
Daughters - Deborah Wray of Redmond and Kristin Stump of Powell Butte
Son, Michael Walker of Terrebonne
Stepson, Daren Martin of Corbett
Sisters, Doreen Wheeler of Tenino, Washington, and Betty Holmes of Sherwood
two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren,
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters and a step-son.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Redmond and Sisters.
Redmond Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
