Sid Elliott of Redmond died March 21, 2004 of natural causes. He was 89.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24 at City Center Foursquare Church in Redmond.

Mr. Elliott was born May 10, 1914, in Terrebonne to George and Bertha (Hegardt) Elliott. He grew up in Central Oregon and graduated from Redmond Union High School in 1932. Mr. Elliott then went on to earn a degree in animal science from Oregon State University in 1940.

He married Lola Grammer on June 12, 1943.

Mr. Elliott farmed with his father south of Cinder Hill near Redmond and later farmed land in Jefferson County.

He was a member of the Jefferson County Livestock Association, Mint Growers Association and the Redmond Saddle Club. He also served on the Jefferson County Planning Commission and on the board of directors for the Production Credit Association.

Mr. Elliott enjoyed horses, birds, football games and high school wrestling.

Survivors include his wife of Culver; two sons, David of Las Vegas, N.M.; and Dan of Terrebonne; a daughter, Leslie Elliott Knight of Culver; a sister, Maxine Peden of Redmond; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
