Ray James Ralls of Bend died Sunday of natural causes. He was 89.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Niswonger, Reynolds and Tabor Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Ralls was born Sept. 20, 1912, in Portland to Nellie and Ollie Ralls. He married Mary Monner in 1940, in Vancouver, Wash.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Ralls owned and operated Burton Saw and Supply in Eugene and was a builder. He also owned and operated Triangle Veneer in Eugene. He retired and moved to Bend in 1982.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, spending time with family and friends and history, especially Native American history.

Survivors include his wife of Bend; four sons, Dick and Rod of Eugene, Russell of Brookings and Randy of Portland; a daughter, Roberta Stafford of Anchorage, Alaska; and ten grandchildren.

Niswonger, Reynolds and Tabor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
