Rose May Wilson of Bend, OR, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2009.

Rose was born in Apache, OK on May 22, 1924, to Clyde and Lena Bookout. In 1941, she moved to California to help in the war effort as an electrical technician in the Oakland shipyards.

Rose married Richard H. "Dick" Wilson in 1969, and retired to Bend in 1972. Rose was active in the First Baptist Church and was a volunteer at St. Charles Medical Center for 13 years.

Subsequent to her husband's passing, Rose remained active in foreign missions, including trips to Austria, Romania and Mexico. Up until the time of her passing, Rose managed the apartment complex where she lived and developed many friendships with her tenants.

She is survived by her son, Mark Landers (Diane) of Bend, OR; her stepson, Dr. Stuart Wilson (Jane) of Farmington, NM; her sister, Louise Vinson of Corpus Christi, TX; and her brother, E. Andrew Bookout of Duncan, OK.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Elmer Bookout; and her husband of 21 years, Richard Wilson.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, at 2:00 pm, at the First Baptist Church on Oregon Street in Bend, OR.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House, 2075 NE Wyatt Court, Bend, OR 97701.

The family has placed their trust in Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home for the final arrangements.
