Marie Helene Monks of Terrebonne died Saturday of natural causes. She was 85.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Terrebonne Pioneer Cemetery.

Mrs. Monks was born July 4, 1917, in Blooming Community to Friedrich and Wilhelmine (Meyer) Goetze. She married John Monks.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Monks was affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church of Redmond.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers and cooking for people. She also enjoyed her church.

Her survivors include:

Daughters, Lucinda Burress and Joanne Burss both of Terrebonne

and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, brothers and sisters and a grandchild.
