Elizabeth W. Munro of Bend died March 3 of natural causes. She was 87.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Bend Villa Court Chapel in Bend.

Mrs. Munro was born July 4, 1916, in Boise, Idaho, to Charles and Anne (Skinner) Winstead. She attended Albertson College of Idaho and graduated from Whitman College with a degree in English in 1938. Mrs. Munro earned her master's degree in social work from the University of Southern California in 1943.

She married James Munro in 1945. She worked as a social worker in Los Angeles and Ada County, Idaho.
Mrs. Munro enjoyed history, genealogy, social and political issues, culture, dining and spending time with her family. She was active for 62 years with P.E.O., an organization supporting women's issues, and was also involved with Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Survivors include her husband of Bend; a son, James; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity or Hospice of Bend-La Pine, 2075 NE Wyatt Court, Bend, 97701.
