Martha Spongberg of Redmond died Monday of natural causes. She was 80.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 at Zion Lutheran Church in Redmond.
Mrs. Spongberg was born Dec. 5, 1923, in Bad Salzungen, Germany, to Herman and Minna (Rubsam) Muller. She was raised and educated in Germany.
She married Gene Spongberg in 1958 in Germany.
Mrs. Spongberg was a homemaker. She moved with her husband to Rockford, Ill., in 1960 and later to Portland in 1978 and then to Redmond in 1996.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading the Bible, attending church and spending time with her family.
Her survivors include:
Husband, Gene, of Redmond
Daughter, Sherry Hewes of Redmond
Sister, Annalies Arrington of Rockford, Illinois
Grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her brother, two sisters and her parents.
