CENSUS:
1900 US Census (June 4,) of Cheyenne City, Laramie CO, Wyoming lists Helen D. Emmons, as living at 2013 Petrican Street in the household of her father Isaac Emmons. 

OCCUPATION:
Helen, helped her Father on the family farm in Huntly, Montana and she attended Nursing School in Billings Montana. In 1913, she made a trip by covered wagon to Yellowstone National Park with family friends. She worked as a cook, until her marriage, at a Hotel in Huntly, Montana, owned by Mrs. Graham. She raised 6
children, and then cared for her mother for four years after she had had a stroke, and was bed ridden. Her mother died in 1938. 

After her mothers death, Helen bought a Restaurant called the "Hi Ho", in Marysville Washington, and She operated it with some help from other family members, from 1939 to 1943. 

Helen worked as a cook at a number of restaurants in the Marysville and Everett areas, including McCleans Cafe, Smith Cafe, Blue Bird Cafe, The Monte Cristo Hotel in Everett, Johnny Cafe (primarily baked pies), and The Cedar Crest Golf and Country Club in Marysville. The restaraunt work, was 1943 to 1962. 

She was well known and appreciated for her fine cooking and baking, both on the job and at home. 

After retirement, from professional cooking, she continued to work as a baby sitter for a number of families in the area, including The Baxter family, the family of her future Grand Son In-Law Gary Baxter who is the husband of her Grand Daughter Jan. 

!PERSONAL INTERESTS:
Helen, loved to read, which was manifested by her knowledge and outstanding vocabulary. Needle work, was another area of her interest. She sewed all of her life, making many of her childrens' clothing, as well as her own. She did Crocheting, Knitting, Embroidery, and tatting. There was no member of the family, that was not a recipient many times over of her acheivments. Her focus, was always her family. She cared deeply about each and every member. She was extremely kind and generous, both in thought and deed. 

MEMBERSHIPS:
Helen, was a member of the Eastern Star & The Rebecca Lodge. 

OTHER INTERESTS:
Helen was interested in Animal Life, and particularly in Dogs and Horses.
