LeeVern Helms of Bend died Monday of natural causes. He was 46.

A visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, at Niswonger, Reynolds Chapel in Bend, followed by a funeral at 2 p.m.

Mr. Helms was born Nov. 8, 1957, in Casa Grande, Ariz., to Willie and Parthenia (Fair) Helms. He grew up and graduated from high school in Casa Grande, Ariz., and moved to Salem in 1976.

While living in Salem, he worked as a self-employed torque converter specialist.

Mr. Helms moved to Bend in 1989 and worked in construction. He also worked for Haines Distributing.
Mr. Helms was a member of My Father's House in Redmond, Westside Church in Bend and Narcotics Anonymous.

He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Bend; three sons, Lee, Solomon and Jason, all of Bend; three daughters, Shaneka of Bend and Shadya Towne and Sharita Towne, both of North Highland, Calif.; his father, Ed Coleman of Salem; three brothers, Willie, Frank Coleman and Eddie Coleman, all of Salem; two sisters, Clara Harris and Darlene Coleman both of Salem; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, his mother, a brother and a grandson.

Niswonger, Reynolds Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
