Ruth Esther Zierlein of Bend died Tuesday. She was 78.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Niswonger-Reynolds Chapel in Bend. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Bend.

Mrs. Zierlein was born Feb. 19, 1928, in Bend to George and Desdamona (Neal) Zierlein. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Bend. She enjoyed playing harp and sightseeing.

She is survived by her niece, Kerma Davis of Prineville, and several other nieces and nephews.

Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home of Bend is in charge of arrangements.
