Jerrel Dean Allen of Bend died March 16. He was 86.

A graveside service was held March 19 at Greenwood Cemetery in Bend.

Mr. Allen was born July 24, 1916, in Gainesville, Texas to Hollis and Fannie (Newton) Allen. He married Sarah Hipp in 1940 in Tulare, Calif.

He was affiliated with the Eagles Lodge in Bend.

Mr. Allen enjoyed traveling.  He moved to Bend in 1982.

Survivors include his two sons, Ron and Douglas, both of Bend; a daughter, Gloria Barron of Red Bluff, Calif.; a sister, Pauline Smith of Modesto, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Niswonger, Reynolds Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
