Calvin "Smiley" R. Nash, of Sisters, died May 15, 2007 of natural causes. He was 82.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Terrebonne Grange Hall. A graveside service will follow at Terrebonne Pioneer Cemetery.
Mr. Nash was born February 1, 1925, in Tillamook to Fred and Mary (Roland) Nash. He married Marguerite McMurry on June 14, 1947, in Sweet Home.
Mr. Nash served in the U.S. Navy as a gunner's mate. He worked as a timber faller. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, bowling, horseshoes, woodworking and spending time with family.
His survivors include:
Sons, Calvin Jr. and David, both of Redmond, Daniel, of Springfield, Robin, of Veneta, and Cory, of Tacoma, Washington
Daughters, Cindy Knight, of Sisters, and Mary Mathison, of Bend
Brothers, Ivan, of Sisters, and Stanley Gunderson, of Portland
Sister, Mary Winston, of Drain
20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, five brothers, two sisters and four great-grandchildren.
Deschutes Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
