Reba L. (Nichols) Carder of Redmond died November 17, 2000 of natural causes. She was 72.
Private family services were held.
Mrs. Carder was born April 6, 1928, in Beaconsfield, Iowa, to Don and Gertrude (Stogdill) Nichols. She lived in Iowa until entering the Air Force. She served in the Air Force in various locations, including Hawaii, from 1952 through 1955.
She moved to Alaska in 1964 to work as an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration at a flight service station in Anchorage, Alaska.
She married Alvis J. Carder in 1964 in Anchorage.
They later moved to Idaho and then to Redmond in 1970.
Mrs. Carder was a member of the Pleasant Valley Garden Club and of the Friday morning TOPS group. She volunteered for the Hospital Auxiliary, The American Cancer Society and Meals on Wheels.
She was also a youth bowling league coach, a classroom mother and seamstress for the Redmond High School drama department.
Her survivors include:
Husband, A.J. of Redmond
Daughter, Karen Carder Brown of Boardman
Brother, Lloyd Nichols of Albia, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
