Mary M. Wood, formerly of Terrebonne, of Kirkland, Washington, died April 1, 2001. She was 89.
A graveside inturnment service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Terrebonne Cemetery.
Mrs. Wood was born Aug. 12, 1911, in Arkansas to Marvin and Rittie True. The family moved to the Northwest when she was young.
She married Henry Crawford Wood in 1929. He died in 1985.
Mrs. Wood worked as a riveter in the shipyards in Portland during World War II, and later as an overhead crane operator. Before her retirement she was employed as a saleswoman.
She and her husband retired to Terrebonne.
In 1985, she moved to Leon, Iowa to live near her sister. In 2000 she moved to the Seattle area.
Mrs. Wood was an avid golfer and member of several country clubs, including the Juniper Golf and Country Club in Redmond. She also enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting and making quilts.
Her survivors include:
Grandsons, David Shirley of Kirkand, Spencer Shirley of Denver, Timothy Shirley of Monroe and Crawford Shirley of Paducah, Kentucky
and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, SaVanne Shirley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Washington Affiliate, 557 Roy St., Lower Level, Seattle, WA 98109.
Flintoft's Funeral Home in Issaquah, Washinton, is in charge of arrangements.
