GWENDOLYN J. DENT, longtime resident of Terrebonne, died in Redmond on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the age of 86. She was born March 26, 1922 in Portland to parents, Fred and Edna (Wolf) Willig.
Gwen lived in Terrebonne for over 60 years. For over 30 years she took care of Terrebonne children and was fondly known as Grandma Gwen. In later years she was known as the Terrebonne Transportation Service as she would drive anyone who needed a ride to the Doctor, grocery store or wherever. Gwen was also a lifetime member of the Terrebonne Grange.
Her survivors include:
Daughter, Jackie (husband Bob) Cooper, of Bend
Sons, Richard (wife Gertrude) Dent, of Happy Valley, James (wife Lola) Dent, of The Dalles.
Gwen loved the outdoors, growing flowers, and she always had a big garden. There are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Tim, preceded her in death in 1992, she was also preceded by a son and daughter.
Public graveside service will be held Monday June 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Terrebonne Pioneer Cemetery in Terrebonne.
Redmond Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
