Norma Christine Dent, 81, of Redmond, died December 17, 2008.
Norma was born February 17, 1927, in Perth, West Australia to John Henry and Alice Bristowe. She was the youngest of seven girls. She began work as a seamstress and continued throughout her life to sew beautiful clothes and gifts for her grandchildren. She met her husband, Lowell, while he was stationed in West Australia during WWII. They were married March 17, 1944. They lived first near Smith Rock and then moved to the west side of Terrebonne. A few years before Lowells death, they moved to Redmond. Norma and Lowell had three children; Edna Klann, Barbara McGladrey and Rodney Dent.
Norma enjoyed gardening, painting and being with family and friends. Norma is survived by her three children, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two sisters, both living in West Australia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Autumn Funerals-Redmond from noon to 5 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2008. A funeral will be held at the Terrebonne Grange at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008. Carrol McIntosh will officiate. Burial will follow at the Terrebonne Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Food Bank or to Hospice.
