Carl "Buzz" W. Dick of Bend died Thursday of natural causes. He was 82.  A funeral service was held for him.

Mr. Dick was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Bend to Carl and Effie (Hauck) Dick. He graduated from Bend Senior High School. He married Nona Cranmer in 1947.

He served in the Navy during World War II and received several awards. He was honorably discharged in 1945.

Mr. Dick worked as a carpenter for Duncan Brothers and George Hilgers Construction Company.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son, Terry of Bend; two daughters, Linda Amonson of Silverton and Sheri James of La Pine; one sister, Anita Paulson of Concord, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.

Niswonger-Reynolds and Tabor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
