Frank Fava of Bend died Thursday of cancer. He was 80.

A viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday at Niswonger, Reynolds & Tabor Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow. A Mass of Christian burial will be said on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Bend. Interment will follow the Mass at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Bend.

Mr. Fava was born in Comiso, Italy on March 31, 1920.  He married his wife, Lena, on March 9, 1947.

Mr. Fava was a barber in Los Angeles until he retired 12 years ago and moved to Bend.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, and watching and playing with his pet birds.

Mr. Fava was preceded in death by a sister and brother. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Giuseppina Nicaso of Italy; and daughters, Linda Fava and Gina Minnis of Bend.
