John L. Moore of Crescent died Monday. He was 71.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Greenwood Cemetery in Bend.

Mr. Moore was born Jan. 14, 1931, in Paris, Ark. He married Helen Hunt on Feb. 1, 1951, in Waldron, Ark.

He served in the Army.  Mr. Moore was a heavy equipment mechanic for Gilchrist Lumber Company.  He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed wood carving.

Mr. Moore moved to the Gilchrist/Crescent area in 1951.

Survivors include his wife of Crescent; one son, John of Crescent; one daughter, Viola Thomas of Lacey, Wash.; one brother, John of Paris, Ark.; one sister, Ola Oates of Clarksville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central Oregon Home Health and Hospice.

Niswonger, Reynolds and Tabor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
